Tyler Hermsen

Attorney

Tyler believes that the title of “trial attorney” is earned, not given. Tyler has sat in a courtroom and taken a jury verdict after days, weeks or even months of trial. He has dedicated his career to civil trial work, spending well over a year of his life in the courtroom in front of juries and judges trying civil cases throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Tyler has represented hundreds of clients, from individuals who were wronged by the acts of others, to large corporations in complex commercial litigation. He has had a varied career across many practice areas—both for plaintiffs and defendants. Tyler served on a trial team in a case that involved the largest tort verdict in Washington State history at the time it went to verdict in 2019.  He also conducted what is believed to be the first fully “Zoom” voir dire ever conducted in the United States and tried what is believed to be the first in-person civil jury trial in the country following the COVID-19 Pandemic shutdown in August 2020.

Tyler is always looking for his next challenge, whether it is a personal injury case, a commercial dispute, employment issue, trial preservation of error counsel, or request for an amicus brief. Tyler approaches each matter with the client as the primary focus, balanced with complexity that comes with high leverage courtroom litigation and appeals.

Tyler has lived in Western Washington his entire life attending both the University of Washington and Seattle University School of Law.  Outside of his legal career, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children and can usually be found on the sidelines coaching or cheering them on in their various sports pursuits.  Tyler has donated thousands of hours to youth athletics in the area, including being a member of the coaching staff for Edmonds-Woodway High School’s varsity football team since 2024.  Needless to say, as a trial lawyer, Tyler loves the spirit of competition at any level.
