Karen L. Cobb
Of Counsel
Karen is an accomplished and principled trial lawyer, with ethical considerations guiding her practice and interactions with both clients and opposing parties. Her diverse practice includes general litigation (frequently property and title disputes), probate administration and litigation (including representation of both fiduciaries and heirs) and estate planning. She also represents governmental agencies and officers in law enforcement related matters. She delights in working one on one with her clients in all realms to achieve their goals in the most efficient and least stressful manner possible.
Karen obtained her law degree magna cum laude from Seattle University in 2003. She is admitted to practice law in all State and Federal courts in Washington and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Washington Law & Politics Magazine named her a “Rising Star” for five consecutive years (2010-2014) and a “Super Lawyer” for the past four years (2020-2023). In 2009, Karen became a Certified Force Science Analyst through the Force Science Research Institute, via an intensive course designed to train police officers, their command staff, attorneys and others to recognize and articulate important psychological, biological, and physiological factors that can influence human behavior and memory in use of force encounters and pursuit situations. She developed and presented a training module for law enforcement officers involved in lethal encounters.
Karen has served the legal community as a speaker in continuing legal education classes on probate topics and recently on a diverse panel addressing law enforcement use of force. She is also involved in various charitable activities and is passionate about giving her time, talents and resources to help the less fortunate. She served for a total of ten years on the board of directors for The Genesis Project and REST: Real Escape from the Sex Trade, local non-profits focused on helping young women and girls obtain freedom from trafficking. She participated in four mission trips to Jamaica (after Hurricane Ivan), Mississippi (after Hurricane Katrina) and Mexico (inner city missions) with her kids’ church youth group.
Karen is an avid traveler both near and far (with a goal of stepping foot in at least one new country per year) and loves to document her adventures through photography. She loves her Seahawks and is an inaugural Kraken season ticket holder (a shout out to her upbringing in icy Minnesota). Karen stays active with hiking and the occasional snowshoe adventure. She has two adult sons that have both served overseas in the military (Marines and Air Force).
